Food Grade Calcium Carbonate

Choosing the most effective food grade calcium product in a formulation is a critical decision.  Food grade calcium carbonate has the highest concentration of elemental calcium 40% by weight. Many studies have shown that calcium from calcium carbonate in food is readily absorbed by the body. Because of this calcium carbonate is more economical to use and the food additive provides the nutritional properties required by formulators.  Typical food grade calcium carbonate applications include:

Ground calcium carbonate is an inexpensive dietary calcium supplement or as an additive in food premixes. It is also used in pharmaceutical formulations and tableting. The production of all products complies with UNI EN ISO 22000:2005, Directive 95/45 EC, 95/2/EC (E170) and with the latest edition of the FCC. The select pharmaceutical grades (Puro Ph M/1 and Puro Ph V/40S) also comply with European Pharmacopeia and the USP.
